A tablet of a polished, veined black stone (marble?). On that, a representation in brass of a cross, with two rifles propped up against it, at the base of the cross a scroll, bearing the words:

Beneath one of the windows is a brass plate, with this inscription:
| TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF CHARLES WHITMORE ISAAC CAPTAIN 38th REGT. SON OF THE RECTOR OF THIS PARISH. HE DIED AT KILDARE IRELAND MAY 3RD 1879 AGED 32 YEARS |
