Marston Sicca was formerly in Gloucestershire, and is now in Warwickshire


The main memorial is the Lychgate, recently restored in November 1996 by the Royal Engineers, Long Marston.
Carved into the upper timbers of the gate, as seen from the road are:

who was buried where he fell in action
on the heights of Chanak Bair
Gallipoli
August 10th 1915
aged 30 years
whilst in command of the
1st Battn 6th Gurkha Rifles
“A gallant & splendid officer & gentleman
both in his life & death he brought honour to
his regiment
& to the Punjab Frontier Force
which he loved”
