Note: The Evesham Journal, Feb. 6 1915 mentions that the Harvington Parish Magazine for February 1915 lists a roll of honour of men serving in the war – If any copies of this survive, I would be very interested to see a copy of that listing – and quoted the following statistics. 45 men were serving at that time; 7 were already serving before the outbreak of war, 4 were reservists who had been called up, 2 were yeomen, 3 were territorials, and 29 were fresh recruits who had been accepted for service. A further 11 others had volunteered, but not been accepted; a grand total of 56 men volunteered out of a parish population at that time of 560.
A partial reconstruction of this listing can be gleaned from the rolls of service printed in the Evesham Journal 1914-1915; follow this link, and select the alphabetic index page corresponding to Harvingtonā¦
