This memorial was formerly in the Grammar School in the High street. The old Grammar school is now several private residences, and the memorial is now mounted in the hall of the new school, next to the Grammar school’s WW I & II memorial. A large dark bronze(?) plaque mounted on a wooden base:

A beaten copper plaque in the church, that reads:

To the Glory of God
and in memory of privates
Alfred Benfield 1st King’s Royal Rifles
William Henry Franklin 2nd Royal Warwicks
and William Tracey 1st Gloucestershire
who died of dysentery in S. Africa while
serving their country in the Boer war 1900
