Notes:
- Richard Doyle has writen to point out that Capt. N.G. Chavasse, awarded the Victoria Cross and bar, was the only man to be awarded this honour twice in the Great War. Although Noel Chavasse was not a resident of Bromsgrove, both he and his brother Capt A R Chavasse spent most of their childhood there (their father was The Bishop of Liverpool at the time
- John Henry Whitfield was an old boy of Worcester Grammar School. His name is on the school memorial
