A large cross, of a hard crystalline material, probably granite, on one of the terraces overlooking the estuary.
Thanks go to Michael Sandford for confirming that the names on the front are those of the men from World War II; those on the left and right hand faces are from World War I. The rear, as indicated on the memorial, are those of the lifeboatmen.
